dont leave us yet leaves!!

The other day I promised the girls that they could play in the (TON of leaves that have accumulated in our side yard,it started to get dark,and I still hadn't taken them out,so...I let them go out in the late after noon to play in leaves?! lol They still had fun,even though it was getting dark.

Such gorgeous colors,I have truly been amazed at some of the gorgeous trees I've been seeing around town.I want to be a little squirrel and collect lots of lovely piles of leaves!!

We are warding off sickness in both the girls(although it doesnt seem to be working too good) WE have had doctor calls and visits for both girls in the past few days.I have a list a mile long of things to do,and I am having day dreams abut Christmas decor!!!Have a good Wednesday Little A.korn readers!!

learning...

Yesterday. I learned that I am very awesome.
Here is my ROCKING booth

i definitely had THE BEST set up there.
Sadly I didnt do anywhere near as well as I thought I would.I will not go into all the details (because this is my blog and I want it to be a happy ,fun,creative,colorful,positive space!,but here are some bits and pieces from my awesome set up.

I have started making a few tu-tus to bring to the neely house Christmas cottage,however I'm not sure if they will be the ones I actually have for sale.I also made little order forms so that I can custom make each tu-tu.I think this may work better,and am very excited to finish my work and bring it all down to my booth.

This experience was bitter sweet,like I said I didn't do the business I thought I would,but on the same hand, I achieved a goal from my list of goals for myself this year.This has only made me want this oh so much more,I might re-open my etsy,or even get Kevin to help me on getting a website running.I know my stuff is awesome,I also know that it is different and people don't embrace difference right away,but I predict that this time next year I will be rocking the sells and laughing at the pure silliness of yesterday :)

To make myself feel better,i have started cleaning up and re-organizing my craft studio space and making it happy once again(it was very cluttered and chaotic after the past week)
I have also been working on a few new ideas for dear little a.korn designs...here's a peek for now...

Yesterday I also took my poor broken sewing machine in to get fixed,if it can not be saved Kevin has promised to get a new one for me :) (I'm sure this will qualify as an early Christmas gift) Im excited to start on the new ideas I have. The little A.korn train shall not be stoped :) YAY!!!Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

fabric days...

The girls and I took two trips to two fabric stores today,in search of tulle and girly fabric stacks.

There is always so much inspiration at the fabric store!!Happy splashes of color were greeting us at every turn!!

I could really spend all day in the fabric store!I am so drawn to all the color and pattern,and I seem to favor circle patterns the most(the same holds true when i am in scrapbook stores,I have TONS of circle pattern paper in my collection)
Zoe decided that she needed to work on a sewing project as well,and before I knew it had gathered several fat stacks of fabric!!!I made her find where she discovered them all and put them back(I think I caught the shop owner frowning out of the corner of my eye lol)But I really liked their selection,so she will have to get used to seeing us!!haha!

GUSH! aren't these thread so pretty!! I will take one of each please lol

I am also a bit of a button junkie,but I restrained myself and didn't buy any of these cuties today.I opted for these instead...

I'm making fabric flowers out of them.
Hopefully I will have them ready for tomorrow.I will spend tonight sewing and stitching, printing,and prepping for my very first craft festival tomorrow.My poor tummy is full of butterflies and lightning bugs,and my little heart is soaring.Im both happy and scared,and very nervous! Prayers are forever on the tip of my lips, in hopes to do well tomorrow...I've done my best now I hope the world likes my stuff...

Christmas Cottage All moved in...

Kevin,Amelie,and I all went down to theThe Neely House today(Zoe was still at school) and set up my little space.

I am very excited and already got a call requesting tu-tus as well.I will start making a few Christmas themed tu-tus to see how they sell!
We brought down our hot pink Christmas table tree to spice up the display a little,and Zoe's picture looks GREAT(I won't be surprised if we get any photo shoot requests as well!)

I like the fact that my bows aren't the typical boutique style bows,they are a little different, but still as cute,and should shake up the typical southern bows we are all used to seeing around here.Also the felt and fabric flowers ad a new twist,and can be worn by little girls (or their moms,grandmas,sisters,or aunts!!) The flowers are also mutli functional,they can be worn in the hair or can be worn on a hand bag or shirt.:)

All in all I'm very happy with my display...Tomorrow I'm bringing my aunt,mom,and the girls down to view the entire Christmas Cottage as well as my display.

little a.korn dreams....coming true

These past few months I have spent all my spare time creating bows,felt flowers,and cloth flowers,emailing and calling back and forth with people concerning craft festivals and Christmas events.And now,finally this week is THE BIG WEEK!!On Thursday, I will move in my Christmas display at the The Neely HouseChristmas Cottage.All my bows and flowers will be available for sale! I am very excited about this and hope to generate a little a.korn following in our little town!!

Today I have been using my awesome cricut cutter to make tags,and hand stamping "little akorn" on each card,this takes awhile and may not be the best,but I think it works,is cute,and has lots of love put into it,so it should be ok!

It feels crazy to see all my hard work finally coming together! It also makes me very nervous...what if I don't sell ANYTHING?!?? I will truly be heartbroken :( But I'm going to give it a try and keep it in prayer and I'm sure everything will work out ok.

On Saturday I also have my first ever Craft Festival!It is at Union University's "Arts in The Park" I am super excited about this because Ill get to decorate a neat little table display and since I spent 5 years planning out entire store lay outs and window fronts,I know my display will grab people's attention and will be TOO cute!!

At the beginning of the year I made out a list of 25 things i wanted to do this year (since I was turning 25).I have been blessed to mark off so many of the things on my list and selling my bows and flowers is one of my biggest dreams.I am so thankful that God brought these opportunities my way as a way to use my creative energy to help our family a little.I have a few other things I want to get together as a way to make a little extra cash before the year is over,achieving this goal makes me feel like I can do so much more and for that I am very grateful<3.
